Training Workshop - AI tools

More than 50 participants have attended the first Edu4AI training, which was organised by AIJU, Instituto Tecnológico de Productos Infantiles y Ocio and held in March,  on AI tools and practical project-based examples that can be used in class. The examples covered the domains of voice recognition, printed text recognition, text to speech, image classification, emotion recognition, chatbots and programmable AI toys.

This was the first of in total three workshops that the project will carry out. So stay tuned, for the next one that will follow in autumn 2021 from our partner Fondazione Mondo Digitale in Rome, Italy.

What we work on

The main work in these first six months of the project concentrated in defining the pedagogical framework for the AI learning intervention: a) the selection of proper pedagogical methodologies, b) the identification of good practices and c) on how children can learn about AI while creating AI apps and/or intelligent artefacts of their own design. This work, which is still ongoing, will deliver a set of best practices to introduce AI in class.
